Narpat, 18, lives in a village named Bishala 30 km from Barmer city. He plays manjira in the group. At present, he has just sat for his grade 10 examination and is waiting for the results. He understands the value of knowledge and education and wants to be a graduate. His father and grandfather have been a huge inspiration and motivation in his life. They have always supported him with his life decisions. His father played a major role in his inclination towards the art of folk music as he used to take him to many temples where he used to see folk artists reciting prayers and worshipping gods, as a kid all this was very much fascinating for him. He is a very efficient person and is able to maintain the balance between his passion and studies. He is very confident about the fact that he will take the art of bhajan to the next big level. Narpat Kumar does around 6-7 shows per month and gets paid around Rs1000 per show. The payment is marginal but he says that he does it for the calm and serenity he gets from singing. He wants to grow as a folk artist and travel the world with his group and perform in all the big cities of the world.
