Kalyan Khan is a singer and musician from the Manganiyar community of Jaisalmer. He has been learning and polishing his vocal abilities and has become quite proficient in understanding and construction of the folk melodies that are performed in most places of the region. At the dawn of adulthood, he has already learned various ragas and taals mostly through observation of the students and gurus in music classes.
He earns a modest income of eight thousand rupees every month and passes it on to his family for their financial well being. He also has a lot of experience performing for royal Rajput families of the Jaisalmer region and is very professional with his dealings.
