Taaza Ram belongs from Bheel community of Barmer in Rajasthan. He plays Ravanhatta which is a melodious string instrument. He even sings beautiful recital of Pabu ji ki Phad which elaborates the life incidents of their God – Pabu ji. Taaza Ram was very small when he got attracted towards the music which his family members like his father, grandfather and his uncles used to play. Music as well as the words of the bhajan of Pabu ji inspired highly pushing him towards learning this art. He now performs with his group in the village itself wherever they are being invited. He is proud of his music and the stories intricated around the recitals that he sings. He was 12 years old when he started learning these bhajans. He never took any piece of paper to write and remember any of the songs, but still he remembers them whole heartedly and has never missed any word of the bhajans ever. He has never left the city of Barmer to perform but believes that someday he would be able to.
The group has Taaza Ram who plays ravanhattha, They all are experts at whatever role they play. They have two males who enact and dresses up as females and dances on the tunes that the group is playing. They never feel embarrassed of performing as a female rather they feel proud that if not in any other sense they are able to do something like a female. They are happy to be able to perform on all the auspicious occasions that happen in their village or near by. They are happy in performing Pabu ji ki Phad as it keeps them away from all kind of negativity around.
