Tarif Khan

Tarif Khan is one of the young vocalists from a group of child artists called the Jaisalmer boys. All the artists from the group, including Tarif, belong to the Manganiyar community of Jaisalmer. Tarif is currently at the age of eight but has worked on his craft with such dedication that he understands the practical aspect and importance of his vocals within the group as well as the folk music spectrum of the state of Rajasthan.

Tarif has learned music from his father, Khete Khan. At such a young age, Tarif manages his schoolwork as well as his passion for music and works on his craft on a daily basis. He is currently studying in the fifth grade in school. He wants to make a career in the field of music through his vocal abilities and learn as much about it as he can.

He aspires to turn his passion for music into his profession just like his ancestors. Through his musical ability, Tarif aims to lift up the livelihoods of his family and eventually every family of the Manganiyaar community that resides in Jaisalmer.
