Pyniarbok Marbaniang, a talented musician at the age of 25, hails from the charming village of Langkyrding Mihngi. With a deep passion for music, Pyniarbok has been immersed in the world of melodies since 2012, when he first discovered his love for playing instruments.
Under the guidance of his mentor, Dajied Sing Kharkongor, Pyniarbok embarked on a musical journey, honing his skills and mastering various traditional Khasi instruments. His proficiency extends to instruments like Padianh, Kynshaw, Nakra (Bom), and Ksing, enabling him to create enchanting melodies and rhythms that capture the essence of Khasi folk music.
As a valued member of Da Thymmei Performing Arts, Pyniarbok actively contributes to the preservation and promotion of Khasi cultural heritage. Inspired by numerous Khasi folk artists and musicians from Shillong and its surroundings, he strives to showcase the rich musical traditions of his community to a wider audience.
With aspirations of performing in front of large crowds, Pyniarbok’s future plans and goals are focused on sharing the beauty of Khasi folk music with people from all walks of life. His ambition is to be a cultural ambassador, spreading the essence and uniqueness of Khasi music to audiences around the world.
