Kishan Ram, 33, lives in a village named Bhadresh, 60 kms from Barmer city. He has been associated with the group for more than 10 years now. He plays dholak and is also learning veena. Apart from music, he is also engaged in farming to get some running income on the table. He started learning from his father at the age of 10 and that led him to become a folk artist. He does around 5-7 shows per month and gets around Rs1000-3000 per show. Most of the songs he performs are bhajans which go on for days. Kishan has already done a recording with another group which is yet to be released. He believes that his association with other musical groups allows him more exposure and opportunities. He sees the internet as the next big thing, a platform where artists like him can promote their art. Recording an album has always been his dream. Most of the songs he sings are bhajans, mainly about the gods and their tales. He sees music as a kind of therapy and an act of meditation.
