An artful as well as experienced instrumentalist, Puran Chand Ji plays Karnal and is quite experienced in his craft. He comes from a village called Bhulang and started playing the instrument in temples as a devotee.
Puran Chand Ji had been keen on learning music since his childhood and hasn’t looked back since. He is the only person in his family to have chosen the musical path. Even though he has worked in various other professions like farming and carpentering in order to earn a livelihood for his family, he never gave up his interest in music.
Puran Chand Ji isn’t just a musician, farmer and carpenter. He has also learned the traditional “Nati” dance performed by various dancers in the region and has been doing it for over two decades and he aspires to perform and promote his culture through the means of music and dance.
