The song, Sawan, delineates a vivid picture of a wife asking her husband to return back home as the Monsoons have come and Teej is about to come. The song fluctuates between joy and sorrow of longing. Sometimes touching the joy of trees, plants and birds when the first drops of rain, fall on Earth and sometimes touching the desolated and resilient wife’s yearning for her husband’s love. This song is written by Kasam Khan Langha with his group. Belonging from the Langha community of Rajasthan, they want to conserve their music and other cultural heritage associated with it. The folk group was mentored by Saptak Collective, a young band by Saptak Collective, a 3rd generation Hindustani classical vocalist, composer and producer.
