This is a song from the Purvanchal region. This is a folk tale where the singer is telling various stories from age-old mythologies. The stories are about evils of society that existed in the Ravana, a particular story about Narad, etc. How his entire kingdom got burned because of him, the reason behind the destruction of Lanka was only because his mind got injured.

(He end up losing everything)

(His entire kingdom got burned because of him)

Arey lanka naash bhayal yahi karanwa re manwa
(The reason behind the destruction of Lanka was this only)

(Seeing the beautiful reflection, even Narad Muni got distracted)

(He also got trapped in this)

(And he had to take upon a lot insults)

Hasiya udal sabha darmanwa re manwa
(He was laughed upon in society)

Aam ke dali nimi rishi ji
(Sage Nimi sat on the branch of a tree)

Jhoolat rahal jhulanwa
(Was swinging and performing austerity)

Prem ka halua khaye lagalein
(He also got distracted from his path)

Bigdailwa imanwa re manwa
(His conscious got malign)

Hasiya udal sabha manwa re manwa
(He was laughed upon in society)

Dekh ke mohani roop lubhaiyle
(He got distracted with Mohani’s prettiness)
