Chhati peet mata rove
(Mother cries tears of pain)

Baah pakad saga bhai

Choodi phod ke tiriya rovein

(chita jala ke sab dukh me pagal se ho jaate hain)
(People lose themselves in grief after they put fire to the pyre)

Dware tak tiriya pahuchayi hain

Kutumb ghat le jaayi
(And members of the family take you to the cremation ground)

Jaar phoonk ke khaakh banayi hain
(You become ash; the fire consumes your body)

Phir lavat ghar aayi
(Your relatives bring your ashes back home)

Jaisan karni waisan bharni
(You get what you sow)

Neki badi sang jaayi
