Lyrics –
Bade auliye peer faker aaye
(There have come many saints and philosophers in the world)
Hami dukhi mazlooma di bhare koi
(To sympathize with the destitute and the impoverished)
Badi damk ae kach de motiyan di
(The pearls have a distinguishable sparkle)
Hunde laal boh kimti khare koi
(Although sons have been considered precious, a few are worthy)
Karobar nu harek hath paunda
(Everybody looks for a profitable business)
Vella baithe na apne ghare koi
(Nobody wants to sit idle at home)
Guru nanak de vang Toofan Bihla
(Like Guru Nanak, Oh Toofan Bihla)
Sacha sauda na jag te kare koi
(Nobody is ready to make a true bargain)
Puchhdi behn nanki apne nanak veer nu
(Nanki is asking her brother Nanak)
Kedi gallo veera bhagma chola paya
(For what reason have you put on this saffron cloak)
Gooda rishta pyaara apna behn prava da
(Profound is the relationship of us brother and sister)
Tainu kive bhulaun main Amari deya jaya
(How will I forget you, oh son of Amari)
Tere sri chand te lakhmi ronde vekh khade
(Your sons Sri Chand and Lakhmi are standing tearful)
Bhabhi ne doha nu ronde masa viraya
(With much difficulty, my sister-in-law has made them stop)
Tera lath geya dil kato duniya daari to
(Why have you detached yourself from the worldly affairs?)
Naa is gal da sanu bhed koi samjhaya
(Neither have you explained any reason behind this)
Bude mapya di akhiyan da veere chanan tu
(You are the light of the eyes of our old parents)
Tere vaaj ohna nu rahu hanera chhaya
(After you are gone, their world would be bleak)
Chhad parivar apna kyon nirmoya hoya ae
(You renounced your family and now have you become ascetic?)
Ajj toofan bihleya chhora dil nu laya
(Today Toofan Bihla has grieved his heart)
Hath ban dhadiyan da kehna ae
(With joined hands, the Dhadi says)
Je ras kavita da laina hai
(If you wish to assimilate the meaning of the poetry)
Chup kar ke sangat vich baina hai
(And sit quietly in the gathering)
Sab sangat gaj ke
(Every devotee, in unison)
Keh deyo ji Waheguru
(Say ‘Waheguru’)
