The Gaadi Nuvala Ensemble, also known as Amrit Dhara, hails from the picturesque valleys of Chamba and Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. This talented group is dedicated to preserving Nuvala, a rare and enchanting folk art form that celebrates the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati through a seamless blend of storytelling, music, and dance. Under the guidance of their mentor, Guruji Janme Jai Singh Guleria, the ensemble has become a beacon of cultural pride and devotion in the region. The group comprises 12 women singers, 2 male vocalists, and 8 female dancers, all of whom bring unparalleled passion to their craft. Guruji Guleria, a revered figure in the community, has devoted his life to teaching Nuvala and related art forms like Jamkaara (playful wedding songs), Suhaag (songs for the bride), and Sehra (songs for the groom). He has also performed for Dharamshala’s radio station, further adding to the group’s credibility and prominence.
