Mahendra Chadar

Mahendra Chadar, a 25-year-old artist, has been passionate about music since childhood. Growing up, he would accompany his father in singing Bhajans and Kirtans at their village temple, where his love for folk music took root. Inspired deeply by his father’s love for music, Mahendra found a new sense of purpose and began formal music training, carrying forward the legacy his father had instilled in him.

At the young age of 10, he started learning to play the dholak. Today, he is proficient in multiple instruments, including the dholak, Harmonium, Nagadiya, and Manjira. Under the guidance of his Gurus, Urmila Pandey and Rajesh Tiwari, Mahendra has performed on prominent stages, showcasing his dedication to preserving and celebrating Bundeli folk music.
