Jagannath Patil Buwa Kavale

Jagannath Patil Buwa Kavale, a 70 -year -old farmer from Bavi, Taluka Aashti, Beed, Maharashtra, has dedicated more than 50 years to music. Born into a family with a strong musical tradition transmitted from his grandfather, Jagannath learned the music of Bajirao Dipaji Sonvane. He plays various musical instruments, including the Duff, Tuntuna and Taal, and is known for his moving song. Specializing in marathi folk forms such as Kalgi Turra and Khandobachi Gani, Jagannath has largely played through the Maharashtra. Despite the lack of formal education, his dedication to music is unshakable and he considers that it is a spiritual practice. For him, music is not just an art form, but an opportunity to serve society and honor God. Jagannath continues to share his musical heritage, hoping to inspire others and to promote the musical traditions of his family for the coming years.
