Ilyas Hussain Khan

Ilyas Hussain Khan is 44 years old, and he is from Mufti Ganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to the 9th generation of the Lucknow gharana. When he was nine years old, he started learning Tabla from his father, Afaq Hussain Khan. His father passed away when Ilyas was a young boy, and later he started taking lessons from his elder brother Ilmas Khan. Then, through  ICCR, he started performing, and he has performed in various places nationally and internationally, such as Russia, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Germany, London etc. He has also taught Tabla in Mexico for three years. So, the conclusion is, he is a very established artist, and his main source of income is the performances he does on different stages.
