Franky Mylliemngap, a passionate musician and percussionist, brings the rich traditions of folk music to life through his captivating rhythms. At the age of 27, Franky decided to dedicate his life to preserving and reviving the essence of his cultural heritage. Hailing from the enchanting village of Smit, Franky’s love for music was nurtured from a young age. He embarked on his musical journey during his school years, where he discovered his affinity for percussion instruments. Under the guidance of renowned musician Mr. Banshailang Mukhim, Franky honed his skills in playing instruments like Ksing, Ka Bom, Padiah, Dymphong, Singphong and Duitara. Having obtained a BA degree in music, Franky’s educational background has equipped him with a solid foundation in music theory and performance. Through his association with bands like Sawgam-band and Shlem, Franky collaborates with fellow musicians to create soul-stirring melodies that resonate with audiences. He is driven by a passion for teaching and passing on his knowledge to younger generations. As a percussionist, he imparts his expertise in playing instruments like Duitara, Guitar, and Ksing, nurturing aspiring musicians and instilling in them an appreciation for their cultural roots. In addition to his prowess as a musician, Franky is also interested in the domain of sound engineering. He recognizes the importance of capturing and enhancing the auditory experience, adding a new dimension to his artistic pursuits.
