Deen Dayal is another upcoming musician who is currently in the prime of his life. At the age of 25, he has already gained 10 years of experience in playing Nagada and has also picked up other instruments like Karnal as well as Dhol. He has been playing with the group for over a decade and is a self-taught instrumentalist whose interest in the field is exclusive to him in his family.
Deen Dayal’s father is a modest farmer in Jestha, a village situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Most of his family’s income comes from farming in which he plays as a helping hand for his father but he makes smaller contributions to the livelihood by earning humble amounts of 500 to 600 rupees per event. He usually gets to do 5 to 6 events every month which is not nearly enough for him to earn big in the field of music.
Like every other musician in the group, Deen Dayal wants to make a contribution to the folk culture of the region by showcasing his skills and promoting his culture in order to set a path in the field for himself and other upcoming musicians from the state.
