Dayanand Kathet

Dayanand Kathet, 53, originally from the Nainital district, has lived in Almora for a long time. Passionate about music since childhood, he was inspired by his father, a folk singer. Actively involved in music from a young age, he participated in school programs and local cultural events. Dayanand mainly plays the Hudka but also has an interest in the harmonium and flute. For the past seven years, he has been performing with Gopal Singh Chamyal’s team, Devbhoomi Maa Sharde Lok Kala Manch. His journey in music is deeply rooted in his cultural heritage and personal experiences, continuously pursuing it since his early years.
