Chhote Khan is an instrumentalist and a folk musician from Ugwa village of Rajasthan and has been gaining popularity in the region as well as the whole state for his skills. He performs along with a group of instrumentalists and vocalists who are talented and actively pursuing their passion for music.
Chhote Khan takes Maange Khan, from the village Satto, for his guru in the field of music. He began to learn when he was just about 8 years old. He is a specialist at playing rhythm instruments such as Dhol, Dholak and Dholki. He belongs to the Bodhar tribe of the very famous Manganiyar community who have the Royal Rajput families as their patrons. Chhote Khan and his group also have the Bhati family of Jaisalmer and play for them on many of the occasions that might call for traditional music.
Chhote Khan’s musical expertise doesn’t just end at understanding the beats of their folk melodies. He has gained a substantial amount of knowledge in classical music, understanding how to play various ragas according to the time of the day or the transition in the songs. Along with his group, Chhote Khan aims at making his melodious contributions towards the cause of creating a sustainable financial environment as well as the prosperity of the culture.
