Chabin Brahma, a proud member of the Bodo Tribe, resides in Laukhatin Baga District, Assam. At the age of 55, he possesses remarkable skills in playing various musical instruments. He specializes in the Seerjah, a mesmerizing string instrument, and is also adept at the Kham, a percussion instrument, as well as wind instruments. Chabin’s musical journey began in his childhood, dedicating himself to learning and mastering these instruments.
In 2005, he joined the esteemed Bikroma group, contributing his talent and passion to their performances. Despite not receiving a formal education, Chabin’s passion for music has driven him to teach aspiring students how to play these instruments. Alongside his profession as a farmer, he wholeheartedly embraces his role as a musician.
Chabin’s love for music runs deep, firmly believing that once someone starts learning this art, it becomes difficult to abandon it. His dedication to preserving and sharing the beauty of music has made him a respected figure within his community.
