Bagiostin Paul Kharumnuid, a talented musician hailing from the picturesque village of Smit, is a versatile artist with a deep passion for music. At the age of 26, Bagiostin has already made significant strides in his musical journey, specialising in the traditional Khasi instrument known as Ka Bom. Bagiostin’s interest in music was sparked by his uncle, an unprofessional singer, and his fellow batchmates. They ignited a fire within him, inspiring him to explore the world of music. He found a mentor in Mr. Banshailang Mukhim, who played a pivotal role in shaping his musical aspirations and providing guidance throughout his journey. Mr. Banshailang Mukhim continues to be a profound source of inspiration for Bagiostin, motivating him to continuously push his musical boundaries. While pursuing his passion for music, Bagiostin has also pursued academic excellence. He holds an MBA degree and has completed a short-term course in guitar, further expanding his musical repertoire. As a part-time trainer, he imparts his knowledge of Khasi literature to undergraduate students, allowing him to share his love for his culture and heritage beyond the realm of music. Bagiostin’s musical talent extends beyond the Ka Bom. He possesses a versatile skill set, with proficiency in playing various instruments such as the flute, guitar, Duitara, and Ksing. With a deep-rooted entrepreneurial spirit, Bagiostin aspires to make a significant impact in the field of music entrepreneurship.
