Baghiram

Baghiram is the passer of wisdom in his group of instrumentalists as he is the oldest active member of the group. He has been playing Dhol for over three decades and is considered as the musical guru of everyone in the group.

His interest in playing Dhol emerged from his father’s expertise and proficiency in playing the instrument who later became his guru and passed on his abilities in the art form to the next generation. Now, at the age of 70, Baghiram plays the same role for the upcoming generation of musicians in the region.

Baghiram is currently a tailor by profession and has two children; one posted as a police officer in the state of Himachal Pradesh and working as a horse-cart driver. Baghiram also owns a farm but wants his all his life to be dedicated to music and never ceases to pursue opportunities to perform even at this age.
