Bagga Ram

Bagga Ram, lives in a village named Badresh, 60 km from Barmer city. He belongs to the Prajapat caste. There are 20 members in his family including his brother’s sisters and their families. He has always lived in a joint family. His father and grandfather have always been the source of inspiration and motivation for music. He started learning music at the age of 8. His children are mostly inclined towards music because of the musical environment they live in.

He also does farming and labour to support the family’s finances. Most of the shows he performs are local and within the nearby regions of Barmer city. He plays jod, also known as manjira in the group. Bagga Ram thinks his group is different because they have the ability to perform in a way that binds people and gives them a sense of calmness. He does around 5-8 shows per month and gets around Rs 2000 per show on an average.

He wishes to travel abroad and perform in front of a much wider audience and get the art the recognition it deserves.
